Police have confirmed that the decomposed remains inside singer D4vd’s car trunk are the body of a minor who has been missing since last year. When officers opened the trunk of the artiste’s Tesla impounded in Hollywood earlier this month after receiving a tip about a foul smell, they did not expect to find 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
The teen has been missing since April 2024, and now there is a series of eerie coincidences tying her case to D4vd. Celeste’s mother told TMZ she suspected the connection almost immediately. Before forensic testing confirmed her identity, she pointed to a small detail, a “Shhh…” tattoo on her daughter’s finger.

That same design has recently appeared on D4vd’s own hand, though photos suggest he only got his ink in September, long after Celeste vanished. The tattoo itself has been popular, with pop stars like Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan wearing the same design for years. However, for Celeste’s family, the match stood out, especially since the teen’s boyfriend was also named David.

The Tesla, bearing Texas plates and registered to D4vd under his legal name, David Anthony Burke, had not been reported stolen. Police have not said who was driving it before it was abandoned and towed, or how long Celeste’s body had been inside. Investigators described her remains as badly decomposed and not intact, suggesting she had been dead for an extended period.
The discovery has collided with the peak of his career. D4vd has been on his Withered World Tour across North America, but sources confirm his Seattle show on September 17 was cancelled following the identification. His remaining U.S. dates, including Los Angeles, are now uncertain.
So far, authorities have stopped short of naming a suspect, and D4vd’s team has declined to comment, citing the active investigation. Police continue to press forward, but one question remains unsettled in the public eye: how did a missing teenager end up in a vehicle tied so directly to a rising star?
