A 19-year-old girl died while parasailing in Budva, Montenegro, and the disturbing footage of her fall is now circulating on social media. The victim, identified as Tijana R., was parasailing over the sea when she fell 50 meters down. She plummeted into the water and died.
KrudPlug reported that the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor is currently looking into the circumstances of the incident. The report also adds that as details surrounding the event remain unclear, the police are investigating to confirm whether Tijana’s fall was the result of an accident or an intentional act.
Meanwhile, the footage of her death reveals that she undid her multiple straps and removed her vest before falling. This has sparked questions about the circumstances leading up to Tijana’s fall.
In the video that has surfaced online, Tijana is seen wearing a swimsuit while she is attached to the parasailing harness. The harness appears to be secure, but the teen begins undoing the latches, which makes it unstable.
The footage shows her appearing to pull on what looks like one of the straps securing the harness.
Moments later, she unzips the safety vest meant to provide extra support during the parasailing activity. She takes off the vest completely and releases another latch on the harness. As she shuffles around in the harness, it becomes unstable. Seconds later, she loses balance and plunges into the sea below. While the footage shows her interacting with the straps and safety gear, it is not yet known why she undid the straps of the harness and removed the vest.
For now, investigators are working to gather more information about what exactly led to Tijana’s fall. According to a report, Tijana is a resident of Novi Sad, Serbia. Details such as the date and the time of the incident are currently unknown.
