The fisherman, who is alleged to be mentally unstable and connected to the triple murder in Rocky Point, Clarendon, has been formally charged. The accused, 26-year-old Daniel Henry, was arrested last week following a deadly machete attack that left three members of his family dead in the Frazersfield community.
Reports say that Henry is alleged to have launched the attack on his mother, brother, and cousin during a domestic incident at their home on Thursday, December 18. The incident ended with his mother, Annette Lindo, a domestic helper and vendor; his fisherman brother, 32-year-old Linval Henry; and his cousin, Ingrid Keisha Lindo, who was also a vendor, all suffering fatal chop wounds to the head and upper body.
Police reports say that at about 9:10 p.m., he armed himself with a machete and targeted his family. The victims were found lying in pools of blood and were pronounced dead on the spot.
Henry was taken into custody early Friday morning, and he had his first court appearance on Monday. At the end of the hearing, he was further remanded, and his next hearing is being finalised. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the incident and what led up to the attack.
Hours after the attack, several individuals were speaking about Henry and his reported mental issues. A woman, claiming to be his cousin, said she does not know him as a violent person and highlighted his mental health as a contributing factor to the incident.
A man, Ricardo, said to be his best friend, also echoed the sentiments. He reflected on the loose bond they shared and described Henry as calm and reserved. Ricardo, who claims to know Henry very well, said Henry lost his father, which affected him deeply. He and the cousin said Henry has been receiving medical treatment for his mental issues. Additional reports said that he received his treatment on the day of the incident.
