Alrick Moncrieffe, 20, washed away in a gully near Havana, Arnett Gardens on Wednesday during Hurricane Beryl. His body has since been located.
Around 11:00 a.m., someone saw the body floating in the water close to the Petrojam factory in Kingston.
The body was subsequently identified by family members after it was towed by the Marine Police to a fishing community in Greenwich Town.
It is said that Alrick was the first person on the island to succumb to Berly’s anger.
It is said that Alrick, also known as “Kalonji,” was playing football when the ball rolled down a ravine.
In his haste to get the ball back, he encountered problems and the floodwaters carried him away.
After that, a search party was sent out to locate the missing individual.
In a statement to radamm.com, friends and family said they are glad to have closure and will now plan the funeral.
