Now, a mother is regretful that she sent her son outdoors to get some fresh air, only to have him killed by gunmen just one day after obtaining his University of the West Indies (UWI) status letter.
Keauno “Popsy” Watson, 23, was overjoyed to learn on Sunday that he had successfully finished his international relations (IR) and psychology degree. He even shared a screenshot of the letter to his mother, Sandra Blair.
“Mommy, I’m finally done with UWI,” he said. Blair said to The Gleaner at their Dames Road house in Allman Town, Kingston, “Mi can get a peace of mind.”
Watson, the youngest of her three children, is her life and her pulse, she said, and it is anticipated that he will receive his degree from The UWI in October.
He was a former St. George’s College student who, according to his family, had lofty goals to achieve and was holding onto the hope that he would one day be able to relocate his family out of the ghetto.
After being taken to the hospital, Watson was declared deceased and the other man was admitted with significant injuries.
Moon 10 is aware that TikTok Live caught the horrific shooting.
Blair hasn’t seen the video personally, but she has heard about it.
HER STARTING TO SHINE
She talked about her bright star with tears in her eyes.
“He lived in the ghetto and was very humble. He always pays attention to him. The thing that stung me the most was when I said, “Popsy, go get some fresh air out a door,” while he was sleeping in his bed. He told me yesterday that he didn’t sleep at all last night and that he said, “Mommy, give me two pill.” “You want coffee,” said Mi. He said, “No.” Blair remarked, “I never knew say him out there when mi hear the shot.”
When she learned he had been shot, she became upset and stated she could not bear to see him lying on the ground.
