In an amazing effort to help those in need, Grace Hamilton, popularly known as Spice, partnered with MYO Global Foundation and donated essential items to schools in Ghana. The renowned dancehall artist brought happiness to the children in Accra on November 22, and the heartwarming occasion was captured.
The donation included snacks, personal care items, and school supplies, such as uniform fabrics, shoes, and whiteboards. The donation was made through her Grace Hamilton Women Empowerment Foundation.
In an interview, she expressed that she would like to remind coloured people that they can dream big and accomplish their dreams just as she has. She referenced her humble beginnings and being homeless at one point in her life. Now the Dancehall Queen stands testament to her resilience.
Spice is no stranger to giving back, as she often assists children with her back-to-school supplies. “Every year I find somewhere and I give back to kids,” she said.
Spice went to the West African country a few weeks ago. She is working on the single Jingle and Wine with African dancehall giant Stonebwoy. During her time, she has been sharing her experiences with the country’s cuisine and its rich culture.
Spice wrote about her donation in a post, expressing, “Ghana Got a taste of Spice, but I had to introduce them to Grace Hamilton as well. I asked MYO Global what the kids were mostly in need of, and she said some of them are without shoes and the proper uniforms, so I gave every child a uniform and bought shoes, a whiteboard, and a few necessities and made a donation courtesy of my foundation, @gracehamilton_wef. This meant so much to me. @y1079fm Thank you.”
Spice had a poverty-stricken childhood in Portmore, St. Catherine. Her father died when she was 9 years old, and she attended church as a child. Some of her popular songs are Ramping Shop featuring Vybz Kartel, Romantic Mood, Needle Eye, So Mi Like It, Conjugal Visit, and Conjugal Visit.
