Dancehall artiste Alkaline and his ex-manager, Dwayne Morris of Cahban Rekords, appear to have a bad history that reportedly involves violent incidents. Their feud and series of violent incidents allegedly drove Morris to contemplate shooting up the entertainer’s home.
Morris has spoken about their feud before, detailing how their professional relationship became disastrous after the DJ soared to stardom. The former manager credited himself as a key contributor to Alkaline’s success. He claimed he greatly invested in artistes during the early stages of his musical career.
Morris reportedly met Alkaline as a budding artiste while he attended Ardenne High School, where he was employed as a music teacher. According to Morris, he signed a five-year contract with Alkaline, and within a year, he became very popular, much to Morris’s surprise.
Morris, speaking on a live chat, shared that after using a lot of his savings to promote the DJ, things became hostile between them when the artiste started making money. He claimed that Alkaline accused him of stealing his money by taking more than he should.
The pair allegedly had multiple disputes and disagreements over money. Morris also blames Alkaline for a broken car window and a cut his girlfriend received at an event. One of the confrontations, which Morris spoke on early this month, reportedly made him fear for his life when Alkaline confronted him over money with more than a hundred men in his entourage.
In the new live stream, he claimed he left his home to stay in a rural area because Alkaline knew where he lived since they resided in the same neighbourhood. He recalled that there were instances when he had the police sleeping at his home, seemingly out of fear, and claimed that there were physical assaults that involved a gun being withdrawn.
According to Morris, he once contemplated shooting up the entertainer’s home at the height of their feud. “Mi si dung a that youth yawd wid a gun inna mi lap enuh bro… “Ah mi son mek mi nuh walk inna that yaad and shoot it up enuh bro,” he said.
