Popular Jamaican TikToker Rosealee is receiving backlash for how she spoke to her daughter during a livestream. TikTok users spoke out against Rosealee’s hostile behaviour towards her young daughter, prompting Rosealee to lash out at the critics.
One of the clips that has been garnering criticism is a video of her shouting at her daughter after the little girl asked her a question. Rosealee’s aggressive response prompts the child to ask her mother why she shouted at her, and Rosealee tells her she is eating and later adds that she does not like to be disturbed when eating.
Another clip shows her commenting on the child’s hygiene. In the video, Rosealee told the girl that she needed to shower, adding, “Unda yuh stink.” She also said that the child did not bathe yesterday and threatened to hit her by saying, “Nuh mek mi fis yuh up in yah enuh dutty gyal.”
While discipline is a traditional practice in the Jamaican parenting culture, many viewers have expressed that Rosealee’s behaviour is too hostile towards the child and her words are degrading. Most of the clapbacks she has received specifically point out that her behaviour is especially inappropriate for social media, citing that the child will be affected by what is recorded online.

One viewer wrote, “Rosealee, stop talking to your kids like that; it doesn’t look good and doesn’t sound good.”
Another viewer expressed that “some people fully don’t deserve to be parents.” A third commenter expressed that her words were “degrading” and many others highlighted that hurtful words affect children.
Among the critics, popular TikToker Abigail E also commented on the situation, encouraging Rosealee to treat her daughter better and urging her to not expose certain personal things on the internet that will affect her child.

Rosealee clapped back at Abigail, saying that she could talk to her child the way she wanted. She indicates that her children do not always listen to her and follow her instructions when she speaks to them nicely, so she resorts to expletives and names like “drancro.”
“Don’t tell me to deal with my child… She is a bully,” she said, indicating that her daughter often misbehaves.
