Footage has surfaced online showing an officer choking a man in a store while making an arrest. The policeman is reportedly under investigation for using excessive force during the incident. It is unclear where in the U.S. the incident happened and the reason for the arrest. The video was seemingly filmed by a shopper in the store.
At the beginning of the video, the policeman has the man on his knees in a chokehold while several shoppers watch what is happening. The man sounds out of breath as he tells the officer that he can’t breathe and urges the officer to stop choking him while resisting. The police reply with instructions that he should put his hands behind his back.
The man expresses again that he can’t breathe and seemingly says that he will comply as soon as the officer stops choking him. The man begs the police to release him, prompting the person filming to encourage him to put his hands behind his back. The officer then slams him to the floor while maintaining the chokehold.
The man puts his hands behind him while the officer lies on top of him seemingly choking him as he struggles to get free. The person filming starts telling the officer that the man has his hands behind him while the police can be heard telling the man repeatedly to put his hands behind his back and keep him in a chokehold.
The man once again tells the police he is unable to breathe. At the end of the video, which is 31 seconds long, the officer frees the man from the chokehold to arrest him.
The video was shared on X by Crime Net and has garnered mixed responses from viewers. While some viewers blamed the man for resisting and sided with the officer, others criticised the police for choking the man.

“Yeah idk about this one. I’m pro police but this seems too much,” user HairyToe said.
“If he would have just complied from the beginning, he would not of had to go through that. It’s not that difficult!!” Dronewinner commented.
