Twenty-nine years after releasing the global hit song Girls Dem Sugar, musical stars Beenie Man and Mya have another collaboration coming up. Dancehall veteran Beenie Man and R&B icon Mya’s new song was recently previewed with a hint that it would be dropping soon.
A short teaser of seemingly a new groovy song was shared by producer Kemar McGregor, Sleek Jamaica reported. The preview showed the producer, Mya, and others vibing in the studio to the song. In the track, Beenie Man can be heard deejaying about being the “only man” for a special lady.
When McGregor shared the video, he hinted that the song will be released this summer. “Summer gona be lit,” he wrote in the caption of the post and tagged both artistes.

While the short clip only treated fans to a snippet of the veteran’s verse, it was enough to get fans hyped up. In the comment section of the post, listeners reacted positively, with many expressing that it would be another banger.
Instagram user mrdavismusik wrote, “This record will bring the dancehall nomination for the Grammys on the main stage not in the back or down in the basement we Birth hip-hop.”
b_ginger_renee also said, “@kingbeenieman This is straight heat. Still got it, mi general.” After listening to the track, some Instagram users believe that the song symbolises the return of “good music” and praised the song.
The revelation of their second major collaboration comes on the heels of their joint performance at the Jazz In The Garden in Miami, Florida.
Beenie Man returned to the U.S. stage for the first time in over 13 years, and Mya joined him on stage during his set to perform their 1996 classic Girls Dem Sugar. The reception to the performance was great, as attendees cheered for them.
