A police officer was caught on camera punching a man in the face with handcuffs after he resisted arrest. The video sparked mixed reactions online after it was shared on the social media platform X.
In the footage, two policemen are attempting to detain a man at an event. It is unclear what led to the police confronting him, but when he resisted to comply, things escalated. Shortly after he expresses that he is not going to jail, an officer deploys his taser, shocking the man. However, the Taser proves ineffective when the man rips off the wires from his body.
Immediately after, the second policeman uses the handcuff in his hand as brass knuckles to repeatedly punch the man. The violent display prompts onlookers to shout at the officer, telling him to stop and that he is assaulting the man. The suspect apparently tried to shield his face from the punches and attempted to push the officer, but his attempts were futile.
He receives multiple punches to the face, and as they tussle, his shirt is also being ripped apart. The other officer assists his colleagues by trying to get the man to stop resisting while his colleague continues to hit him. The suspect can be heard telling the policeman that he is not fighting, but he does not allow them to handcuff him.
Before the video ends, the man is seen with a bloody face. Bystanders continued to shout at the officer, with one stating that he could be sued for assaulting the man.
