A man in Virginia was fatally shot after fighting a Foot Locker employee. The physical altercation escalated into a deadly encounter when the employee was being beaten by the man just outside the establishment. The daytime incident was filmed outside by what appears to be an onlooker and was shared online by World Star Hip Hop.
The outlet reported that a customer, a male resident of Virginia, got into an argument with the employee. The altercation became physical, and the customer allegedly started fighting the employee. The Foot Locker employee, who was armed, eventually withdrew his firearm amid the fight and shot the customer.
According to the outlet, the customer was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injury an hour later. The employee was arrested but claimed he discharged his weapon in self-defence, per the report. The incident is under investigation by major crime detectives.

The footage published by the outlet shows the customer pummelling the employee near the door. For a brief moment, the employee manages to take down the customer, but when he stands again, he receives more punches. Shortly after, the employee crouches, dropping his defences, while the customer throws punches at him.
The employee stands and continues to take the hits while a woman can be heard screaming at the customer to stop. Seconds later, the employee raises his gun and fires at the customer.
The footage has been garnering mixed reactions from the public, with some viewers voicing that the employee’s actions were justified, while others say the altercation did not warrant the use of a fatal weapon. One viewer expressed, “Nah he’s going to prison, that was a fair fight and he was losing. Take your loss and go back to work, you don’t get to shoot nobody.”
However, another challenged this argument, stating, “It doesn’t matter if it’s a fair fight if the guy can no longer defend himself then it’s evolved into a “Beating”/”attack” rather than a fight and is considered to be life threatening. He will likely get off for self defense. Plus It sounds like it was an argument. not a Fight. You don’t get to just attack people because of an argument.”
