A video of an Antioch High School student assaulting her teacher by pepper-spraying him after he allegedly took her phone has gone viral on X. The controversial clip of the Tennessee student, posted on Sunday, has already amassed over 300,000 views.
The footage opens in a classroom of students as a teacher quickly exits, and a female student follows closely behind him, carrying a black object said to be a mace. The other students are seen laughing, expressing shock over an incident that unfolded in the class.
According to the conversation in the video, tension suddenly erupted when the teacher allegedly confiscated the student’s phone. While the reason is unclear, it is alleged that the schoolgirl retaliated, making the teacher before he exited the class.
In the corridor, where the video continues, a heated exchange ensues before the altercation takes a violent turn again. The teacher seemingly reported the student, who hurled an expletive at him and demanded that he return her phone.
When he continued to resist, she deployed the pepper spray a second time. The pepper spray goes directly into the teacher’s face, and he is seen dropping to the ground and screaming in pain as the students’ repeated demands echo through the corridor. Multiple staff members address them before the video ends, but the conflict is not resolved.
According to the information shared in the comments, Metro Police confirmed that the student is facing a misdemeanour assault charge for pepper-spraying her teacher.
Reactions to the incident have flooded social media. One user, Kamron Boorman, wrote, “That’s a felony,” while another, Cris Brown-guidi, tweeted, “I’d press charges.” Some viewers urged that the student be arrested immediately, with one comment stating, “Arrest her.” However, others questioned the teacher’s actions in the first place. One user remarked, “Ain’t gotta be doin all tha,” and another commented, “He wasn’t harming her, or threatening her, and she just sprayed him??”
