Dancehall fans are excited after Ghanaian Afropop star Moliy confirmed another major Jamaican star will be adding their unique dancehall flavour on a new version of Shake It To The Max. The announcement revealed that she is bringing dancehall legend Vybz Kartel along for the ride with a high-powered remix of her breakout hit single.
The revelation came this week when Moliy posted the thrilling news of her upcoming collaboration with Vybz Kartel on social media. The post has been igniting a new wave of excitement from fans who can’t get enough of the infectious song.
The announcement of a new remix comes amid Moliy’s success with the first official “Shake It to the Max (Fly)” remix, which features Silent Addy, Skillibeng, and Shenseea. The Jamaican flavour that dancehall artists Skillibeng and Shenseea brought to the track contributed to the song’s dynamic sound.
The song has rocketed up the charts since its debut, and the music video boasts 15 million views in only a month since its release. The catchy song recently soared to No. 4 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart. It also debuted in the Dutch Top 100 at No. 97, claimed No. 44 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 13 in Suriname.
It recently debuted on Billboard Canadian Hot 100 at No. 75 and on the UK Afrobeats chart, the single claimed the number one spot. Locally, the track spent several days at No. 1 on YouTube’s Trending for Music.
The original Shake It To The Max song blew up on TikTok shortly after its release in December. It was produced by Adam “Silent Addy” Alexander, a Jamaican native, and Neil “Disco Neil” Dyer, who also has Jamaican roots but resides in Florida.
Vybz Kartel’s inclusion in the popular song has expectations sky-high as his addition to the track is expected to inject even more energy and edge into an already viral sensation. The collaboration will also boost Moliy’s career as Vybz Kartel continues to be one of the most influential artistes in the dancehall scene.
