A 7-year-old Milwaukee boy who was kidnapped on Friday was reportedly taken after a failed robbery operation initially targeting the child’s mother. It is alleged that the child’s mother, Sharon Williams, is a known drug dealer. A small group of thieves plotted to rob her, but when things didn’t go as planned, they turned their attention to the child’s father and then ultimately to little Jamal White.
The failed robbery attempt was carried out by a 25-year-old suspect who later confessed to police. The suspect, Corey Williams, was taken into custody alongside another male. Initial reports named the second suspect as a 27-year-old, but updated court documents confirmed he is a 14-year-old who orchestrated the entire plan.
According to Corey Williams’ confession, the teen reached out to him two weeks before the incident, convincing him to help rob Shavon Williams, whom he claimed was often seen flaunting drugs and cash during FaceTime calls. Corey borrowed his girlfriend’s Jeep and picked up the teen and another accomplice, both armed and masked.
However, the robbery never happened because Shavon was not home, and the group redirected their focus to Jamal’s father. However, when they pulled up at the father’s house in Wisconsin, the father ran, leaving the child behind, and that was when the child, who had been playing in the driveway, was grabbed and shoved into the vehicle.

Despite Williams’ claim that he disagreed with kidnapping the boy, he remained involved throughout. They later demanded a ransom of $100,000 and jewellery from the boy’s mother, who reportedly never showed up at the agreed exchange point.
Police records show Shavon Williams ignored over 40 calls from the suspects and refused to assist with the investigation, further complicating the case. Williams said his two accomplices discussed harming the child to show how serious they were, but they never did it.
Five hours after Jamal was taken, an Amber Alert was issued, which led to the teen and the third accomplice leaving the house. Williams was left behind with the child, and he hid in the attic when police arrived, leaving Jamal alone in a bedroom.
