Dancehall artiste Gage has spoken out in greater detail about the paternity scandal that has dominated his recent live streams, revealing that the man he believes to be the child’s real father is a former friend known as “Puppy”.
Gage explained that he had not seen Ashley, the child’s mother, for about three years before reconnecting. According to him, it was Puppy who first told him that Ashley had become pregnant for him. Ashley, he claimed, was too afraid to break the news herself.
Suspicion grew when Gage went to sign paperwork for a paternity test and noticed that the child’s surname matched Puppy’s. When confronted, Ashley allegedly said she had “guessed” the name and that Puppy wasn’t the only person with that surname. She had initially told Gage that the child had her mother’s last name, the same as hers, since her parents are married.
Gage said the moment embarrassed him deeply, recalling how uncomfortable he felt as the nurse filled out the form. Despite the clear warning sign, he went ahead with the paternity test. The results confirmed that he was not the biological father.
When he first came out with the news of caring for an illegitimate child, Gage furiously demanded that Ashley return all the money he spent on the child. His anger boiled over as he accused her of disrespect and deceit, even issuing threats.
“Mi wah back mi food (money) dem,” he said during the broadcast. “Every f**king dollar weh mi memba, mi want it back… Mi promise yuh worries.”
Gage also reflected on a difficult chapter from his past, recalling a time when he got another woman pregnant. Believing he could not support two children, he said he encouraged her to have an abortion. Now, with the paternity test disproving his connection to Ashley’s child, Gage said he is left without any children at all.
