A St Elizabeth man threatening political violence in a viral video is now facing legal troubles as he was charged for his actions. Police detained Giovannie Skeen, better known on social media as Mother Love, after he shared a video on TikTok threatening to cause mayhem in the community of Marlborough, Balaclava, if the September 3rd general elections do not end in his favour.
Skeen, who works as a clothes vendor, is a proud supporter of the People’s National Party (PNP). His TikTok account, which boasts over 91,000 followers, features several videos of him showing his devotion to the PNP. One of the videos posted two days ago, which has racked up over 76,000 views, features Skeen indicating that his neighbourhood would become a danger zone if the PNP candidate in his constituency lost the general election.
In the video, he can be heard saying, “if we no win, we ago turn the world inna Haiti.” he also mentioned that “big matic and rifle.” Continuing, he said, “Me will murder people fi me party.”

Police indicated that after becoming aware of the video, they took action by conducting a targeted operation in the community. When they found him in the area, he was arrested and charged with audiovisual communication to promote violence.
On Wednesday, Skeen sought to clarify his statements in a new TikTok video. He explained that his intention was never to promote killing and gun violence. He said that the public assumed he was threatening to kill people without asking him.
According to Skeen, his phrase “we ago turn the world inna Haiti” indicated that he would provide more jobs for people and help them escape poverty, so they would no longer resort to violence.
“Everything weh mi talk, unuh run wid it…None a unuh cyah carry mi dung. Nuh Laborit, nuh PNP,” he said. He preached about unity among the parties and mentioned that he is hard-working and not a troublemaker.
