Footage has surfaced of a man being gunned down outside a restaurant, allegedly by his brother. The shocking incident took place earlier this month at the Louisiana Fried Chicken and Seafood restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas, where 36-year-old Kevin Hernandez was killed while sitting in his pickup truck.
According to police, Hernandez was shot multiple times in the restaurant’s parking lot when gunmen drove up to his red pickup truck. A graphic video, posted by WorldstarHipHop on August 28, shows a red SUV pulling up beside the parked truck. Two armed individuals, wearing blue and black hooded sweatshirts and masks, jump out and immediately unleash a barrage of gunfire.
Hernandez tried to escape, but the pickup truck did not make it away and slammed into the restaurant. Police said that more than a dozen rounds were fired, and Hernandez sustained several gunshot wounds.
According to family members, Hernandez is related to one of the suspects, 17-year-old Giovany Hernandez-Tafoya. Giovany, who was identified as the victim’s half-brother, was later arrested and charged with murder.
He was taken into custody following a SWAT operation at a nearby home. He is being held as an adult, and court records show he had already had a previous DWI charge from July. He had been out on bond at the time of the shooting.
The new arrest violates those bond conditions, and a hearing is scheduled for August 21. The second suspect, whose identity was not disclosed, is reported to be a juvenile who was found in the company of Giovany at the nearby residence.
While the video offers chilling evidence of how the shooting unfolded, authorities say the motive behind the attack remains unclear. Investigators are still working to determine what led up to the violent encounter that left one man dead and two young suspects in custody.
