TikTok personality Akii Walk was reportedly arrested Wednesday night during fellow TikToker Annie’s live stream. Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force were apparently heard escorting him away after reportedly forcing their way into the house where he had been staying.
According to Annie, officers had to kick the door down because Akii Walk refused to open it. In the background of the livestream, his voice could be heard crying and screaming as he was being taken into custody for allegedly raping Annie’s 14-year-old daughter, Zoey.
Annie later explained why she had grown suspicious of him before the arrest. She described his behaviour as ‘lurking’ when she claimed that he had lingered at her home late at night and appeared reluctant to leave.
She further recalled an incident where he allegedly barricaded himself inside a room with Zoey and refused to open the door. According to Annie, the alleged sexual assault had been taking place since June. “From June him a deh wid mi pickney… dis bwoy a evil and him talk like him a Christian, like him a some God-fearing somebody,” she angrily declared.
Annie also shared that she never once went inside the house where Akii Walk was staying, yet her daughter was able to describe the interior layout. To her, this was evidence that Zoey had been taken inside.
During her live stream, the mother also described how she initially trusted Akii Walk. She said he told her he was facing challenges in his community, claiming even his own relatives had turned against him and pressured him to repay a loan. Believing he was genuine, Annie admitted that she had given him the money and allowed him to stay on her mother’s property. She even said she paid him to be her driver since she does not have a licence. She indicated that she liked having him around, praising him as being more helpful than her own son.
Shortly before the alleged arrest, Akii Walk had also been live on TikTok, denying the allegations. He insisted he had done nothing wrong. “Mi big man. I don’t (rape) no kid, we guide kids… mi conscience free,” he said. In another part of the livestream, however, he made a sarcastic remark that caught attention: “Yes, I am guilty. Wah unuh gone do bout it?” Seconds later, the stream ended, with many viewers speculating that he cut it off after realising police had arrived.
Earlier this week, Annie said she made the discovery of the alleged assault and immediately went to the police. She claimed that when Akii Walk realised she intended to confront him, he locked himself inside the house.
The situation has caused major uproar online, fuelled by past rumours that Akii Walk and Zoey were romantically linked.
