TikTok personality Akeam is being called a scammer by TikTokers after news of him being injured in a motorcycle accident in Portland surfaced. Akeam shared the details of the incident, but some viewers and TikTokers have been saying the incident was staged, allegedly as part of a plan to collect donations.
According to claims circulating on TikTok, a fellow content creator known as Sky Diamond has accused Akeam and his mother of fabricating the story about the accident. Sky, who appeared on a live stream, alleged that the pair cooked up the incident to gain sympathy and money from supporters. “Unuh see di act weh di woman put on this morning?” Sky said, referring to a live broadcast where Akeam’s mother appeared in tears. The distressed mother was seen listening to gospel music as she tearfully thanked God.
Sky claimed that Akeam’s mother later contradicted herself by saying that her son was fine, unknowingly revealing what Sky described as proof that the accident story was false. During her live session, Sky told viewers she was simply saving them from being scammed, accusing the family of using emotional tactics to gain attention and donations. “Scammers love to cry,” she said, adding that Akeam’s mother was “crying for coins.”
Akeam was also accused of misusing funds that were previously raised for hurricane relief efforts. Akeam and his team had recently visited affected communities, distributing supplies to residents in need. However, a few TikTokers alleged that some of the donated money was instead used to purchase the motorcycle involved in the supposed accident.
As the accusations spread, some TikTok users began questioning details of Akeam’s injury. In his initial video, Akeam revealed that he received five stitches after sustaining a wound on his torso. Critics, however, argued that his quick return to riding and his overall condition did not seem consistent with his claims.
In response, Akeam defended himself in a live stream. He showed the uncovered injury on his stomach, insisting that the accident did happen. He also showed the scratches on his motorcycle as proof. His mother also spoke out, indicating that her tears were genuine expressions of gratitude, not part of any scheme.
