Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine’s grandmother was held hostage in his home when gunmen stormed the property in search of money and keys. The unsettling event unfolded on Sunday night at his Florida residence. Four armed and masked men entered the home through the garage.
Rather than raiding the whole house, their focus was set on cash and car keys. At the time, 6ix9ine himself was not present. He said he was livestreaming with social media personality Jack Doherty, who had his own legal troubles days earlier.
Meanwhile, the intruders confronted Tekashi’s 60-year-old mother. According to reports, some of the armed men kept the elderly woman outside against her will while their accomplices searched inside the house. Surveillance footage of the scary scene shared by TMZ showed Tekashi’s mother when she came face-to-face with the perpetrators after they entered through the garage.
She was accompanied by the family dog, who was running around, apparently confused. At one point, she was pleading with the burglars with a shaky voice, and while they did not harm her, they proceeded to ransack the property. One of the gunmen remained at the woman’s side while the others searched the house.
Later, they went outside, and additional footage shows them walking around outside the home with the woman. She is led by one burglar who steers her in a direction, then leads her inside before they reappear again, with him pulling her arm in another direction, while the dog follows them the entire time.
Law enforcement responded promptly after being notified of the home invasion. When deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, the suspects were already gone. Multiple people on the property recounted the harrowing experience to the police. Officers conducted a thorough search, including using a K-9 unit. Officials later reported that the burglars had likely fled in an awaiting getaway vehicle before they arrived. Authorities are yet to identify the suspects.
