Police are reportedly eyeing singer D4vd as a suspect in the murder of Celeste Rivas, several weeks after she was found dead inside his car. While authorities have not officially confirmed this, TMZ sources reported that the current investigation is moving in that direction, though no formal documents label him as a suspect, according to the report.
According to TMZ, the police are approaching the case as a homicide, even though the details of her death remain unclear. There are toxicology results pending, which will shed light on the cause of death. The timeline surrounding the singer has also raised questions. TMZ said that another source pointed to a 2025 trip D4vd took that investigators are looking into. The source said that D4vd’s trip saw him visiting Santa Barbara County in the spring. He reportedly went to a remote area late at night and stayed there for hours.
That detail, however, has not been verified by a second source, and it is unclear why that event months ago would factor into the LAPD’s current investigation. Still, its mention in the inquiry shows investigators are examining a wide range of possibilities.
Another troubling element is the lack of any confirmed sighting of Celeste since September 2024. That long gap makes the circumstances even harder to piece together. During the investigation, police searched the Hollywood Hills home where D4vd had been living, reportedly looking for blood evidence.
Celeste was found dead in D4vd’s towed Tesla after it was abandoned for several days on the street in the area of his residence. The teen’s body was in the front trunk, inside a plastic bag. Sources say the body was decomposed and appeared to have been cut up, suggesting whoever was responsible might not have acted alone. However, no additional suspects have been identified, and authorities have not indicated whether they believe more individuals are involved. On Monday, the LAPD also shared that the investigation is far from over, as they are not close to making an arrest.
