There now seems to be trouble in paradise after the online romance between Nigerian content creator Emmy and Jamaican social media personality Lando attracted the attention of Emmy’s alleged ex-boyfriend.
Emmy and Lando have become one of the internet’s most recent talked-about long-distance romances. The pair, who met online, interacted via phone for years before finally meeting in person in Ghana, where the chemistry between them became impossible to miss. It is believed that their long-distance relationship officially began about two years ago.
Their recent reunion videos spread rapidly across social platforms, and many embraced the idea that a genuine cross-continental love story might be unfolding in real time. But just as supporters were settling into the sweetness of the moment, an unexpected plot twist arrived online.
A man known as Phamose stepped forward, claiming to be Emmy’s ex-boyfriend. In shock, he alleged that they had a 10-year relationship that was ongoing up until recently. According to Phamose, he and Emmy have been together since 2015, and she never officially ended their relationship. In fact, he said they had a disagreement not long ago, and she blocked him across her accounts.
During that block, he claims, she travelled to Ghana, where she met Lando. He said he only discovered her new connection with Lando after Jamaican social media users began bombarding his page with comments. Phamose explained that the social media block prevented him from seeing what she was posting publicly and from contacting her directly.
During his live stream, he insisted that Emmy had told him two years ago that she and Lando were “just friends”, which he believes was misleading. Additionally, he also called out Emmy as a liar, saying that she told him she was travelling to a different location before she went off to Ghana.
Hoping to clear the air, Phamose called Emmy using someone else’s number so she would answer. The conversation took a tense turn as he accused her of lying about her travels and hiding the seriousness of her connection with Lando. Emmy, taken aback, asked him if his anger was part of a prank. Phamose then suggested Emmy and Lando might be staging a stunt, but she dismissed the idea entirely and referred to her bond with Lando as a relationship.
Phamose even demanded compensation for his time, saying he felt blindsided. He later admitted he was deeply hurt but planned to step back and watch what happens now. He predicted that things would end badly for Lando, just as they did for him.
He also reacted strongly to a video of Emmy and Lando’s public display of affection, throwing shade at Lando and questioning Emmy’s past comments about not wanting marriage with him, but expressed a desire to tie the knot with Lando.
