Tension has flared online between dancehall veteran Bounty Killer and members of Vybz Kartel’s Gaza fan base following Bounty’s repeated public support for fellow deejay Masicka. The fallout unfolded across social media after Masicka recently threw lyrical jabs at Vybz Kartel during his clash with Tommy Lee Sparta, sparking strong reactions from Kartel’s supporters.
During the clash, Masicka claimed that Kartel had once sought a collaboration with him while incarcerated and suggested that he had helped boost Kartel’s career during that period. His remarks did not sit well with Gaza fans, who swiftly pushed back, defending Kartel.
Bounty Killer got caught in the crossfire because he had been reposting Masicka’s achievements and openly acknowledging his talent. Bounty’s visible support for Masicka drew sharp criticism from some Gaza supporters. Bounty is widely regarded as Kartel’s mentor, having helped guide and shape his early career in the dancehall industry. Although the two artistes were embroiled in a public feud years ago, they eventually resolved their differences, and, following Kartel’s release from prison, they openly praised each other and even shared the stage.
In response to the growing criticism, Bounty Killer posted a video highlighting moments from his past conflict with Kartel, as well as instances where he publicly defended and supported him. Accompanying the video was a strongly worded caption aimed at both Gaza and Sparta fans.
Bounty accused critics of being forgetful and ungrateful. He reminded followers that he had stood by Kartel during difficult periods and questioned why his current support for Masicka was being portrayed as betrayal. “Gaza and Sparta fans let me drag unuh little fish brain for a minute and show the world what snake and bad mind looks like inna real time,” he wrote.

The post triggered an avalanche of reactions in the comment section, exposing sharp divisions among fans. Some urged Bounty Killer to reconsider the post. One commenter wrote, “Delete this fam they gonna take is the wrong way it’s the gaza groupies we don’t like.”
Bounty Killer responded directly, accusing Kartel’s fans of being ungrateful and recalling past instances where he said he defended Kartel while enduring personal attacks. He added that Kartel did not publicly address the disrespect directed at him by fans, stating, “So if him can stand and watched dem dissing me and don’t address it says a lot… mi care zero at this point.”

Supporters and critics weighed in from all sides. Some defended Bounty Killer’s right to support Masicka, noting that he never directly disrespected Kartel. Others accused him of holding on to old grudges and questioned why he would resurface past conflicts after appearing publicly united with Kartel earlier this year. “This just shows that you still hold grudges against Kartel,” one user commented, while another said, “Nothing wrong with what Bounty Killer post… the man just a show unuh say he’s the bigger person.”
