A woman in Minneapolis was shot in the head and killed by an ICE agent after she allegedly “weaponised her vehicle” and almost struck an officer. The death of the woman on Wednesday was captured on camera, which has not only gone viral but also led to chaotic protests in the city.
Officials identified the deceased as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. She was described as a “legal observer of federal actions in the city” and was at the scene with her wife when the incident happened. Officials also confirmed that she was not the target of the immigration-related arrests.
A statement from the Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin seems to indicate that Good was among the rioters who were on the street, obstructing the operations of ICE agents. McLaughlin told TMZ that one of the rioters even tried to mow down officers to kill them.

In footage of the shooting, Good’s Honda Pilot was surrounded by ICE agents on a residential street on Wednesday morning after they pulled up in a pickup truck. Officers attempted to open the door of the SUV and ordered her to “Get out of the fucking car.”
After reversing, Good drove forward, which was when an agent who was closer to the front of the vehicle opened fire at Good, hitting her in the head. Around three shots were fired, and the vehicle crashed a short distance away into a parked car.

McLaughlin claimed that when the officer shot at Good, he was “fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement, and the safety of the public.” McLaughlin added that the shooting was “defensive shots, which were part of his training. She said it saved his life and the lives of his colleagues. “Thankfully, the ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries,” she continued.
Before paramedics arrived, an alleged doctor at the scene urged ICE agents to let him help, but he was denied, per reports. When paramedics arrived, they reportedly had difficulty getting to Good. TMZ, citing the first responders’ website EMS1, said the ambulance was unable to get to the scene due to federal vehicles blocking the street. Paramedics had to rush to Good on foot.

Her body was removed from the vehicle by paramedics and carried down the sidewalk, where they laid her body on the ground just around the corner. Chest compressions were performed to revive her. She was eventually placed on a gurney and later carried to the hospital, where they pronounced her dead.
