One person was killed, and multiple others were injured in a crash that ended with raging flames. The collision occurred in Independence City on Wednesday. The vehicles involved were a Nissan AD wagon and a Honda Stream, per the report. The two cars collided at the intersection of Passagefort Drive and the Cumberland Boulevard stoplight.
Both vehicles were badly damaged, and a fire broke out. Based on footage obtained by Moon 10, showing one of the cars on fire, it appears that the vehicle had burst into flames after the crash. It is unclear if the other later caught fire as well.
One person was pronounced dead, while several people had to be rushed to the hospital with injuries. Officials have not yet released details of the deceased, the injured, or the time of the incident. Information reaching Moon 10 is that the person who died in the crash is a young woman known as Abby. The female was reportedly visiting from overseas.

After the fire was extinguished and the victims were removed from the scene, the area was cordoned off as police began their investigation. Notably, there have been multiple crashes this year across the island, and in 2025, St Catherine recorded the highest fatalities from collisions.

The crash comes on the heels of another fiery crash that killed two men in Trelawny on Sunday. The men, 33-year-old Romeo Everton Robinson and 36-year-old Kenrick Anthony Dove, died along the North Coast Highway around 9:45 p.m.
They were travelling in a white Mercedes-Benz motorcar. Robinson was driving along a section of Pen Main Road when he crashed, and the vehicle exploded with them in it. Both men are from St James; while Robinson lived in Whitesands in Cambridge, Dove lived in Bogue village. Police are also investigating this crash, but have indicated that factors such as speeding and a lapse in judgment could have caused the accident.
