Following the heated altercation between his girlfriend, Annie, and his landlady, TikToker Yankee left the residence. However, the situation is far from over because he wants his security deposit returned, which the landlady has claimed he never paid.
Yankee and Annie were ordered to leave the Portmore residence, and they reportedly returned to Annie’s home. Yankee’s main concern now, he said, is retrieving his belongings and getting back his security deposit that amounted to $90,000.
Speaking with fellow TikTok personality Figure It Out (FIO), Yankee shared his side of the story. He explained that he moved into the residence, reportedly located in Gregory Park, on July 15. According to social media, he was renting a single room, while several other rooms on the property were also occupied by tenants.
Yankee said the landlady required a security deposit when he moved in. He insisted that both the deposit and rent be paid in full. However, he claimed that problems started after the landlady began seeing him regularly on TikTok. According to Yankee, she allegedly tried to raise the rent once she realised his online presence, something he said he did not agree with.
Beyond the money issues, Yankee also raised privacy concerns. He claimed that the space he rented was connected to the landlady’s residence by a door, and that she would push it open and enter whenever she felt like it. He said whenever he tried to address the lack of privacy, the landlady would shut him down by reminding him that the entire property belonged to her.
During the conversation, FIO advised him to formally request both his items and his deposit from the landlady as a first step. If that request is ignored, FIO said he is prepared to help Yankee take the matter further. FIO assured him that he would assist in resolving the issue by involving legal channels through his attorney and connections within the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
