Police in Clarendon are investigating the killing of a 46-year-old caregiver who was chopped to death, allegedly by her fiancé, early Monday morning. The attack occurred during what authorities say was a domestic incident in May Pen.
The deceased has been identified as Jennifer Williamson, who lived on Glenmuir Drive. According to the police, Williamson was attacked at her home at about 12:03 a.m. when she was attacked. She was chopped several times and was later pronounced dead.
Police are now searching for her spouse, who is named the main suspect in the case. The May Pen Criminal Investigation Branch is currently probing the circumstances surrounding the killing. Police have not released further details about what led to the incident.
The latest killing comes at a time when the Clarendon police division has recorded one murder as of February 7, representing a 75 per cent reduction compared to the similar period last year, according to police reports.
Just over a month ago, another deadly chopping incident took place in the parish. That incident occurred on December 18, 2025, in Rocky Point, Clarendon, and resulted in the deaths of three relatives.
In this incident, a man chopped his mother, brother and cousin to death at their family home. The man, who is a fisherman, was captured by police and taken into custody at the scene. He is believed to be mentally challenged and was actively taking medication at the time of the incident.
Reports say that a dispute with his family led to the attack. The victims in that case were identified as 32-year-old fisherman Lynval Henry, domestic helper and vendor Annette Lindo, and vendor Ingrid Keisha Lindo. Police reported that the suspect, who is also a fisherman, was taken into custody following the incident. According to residents in the area, the suspect is a hard-working man, but he believes that some of the people close to him have betrayed him.
