A woman died, and her daughter was injured in a strange crash over the weekend that was allegedly caused by spiritual forces. The incident reportedly occurred near a funeral home in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
Information circulating indicates that the mother and daughter were standing along a sidewalk when a taxi reportedly came speeding in their direction. The vehicle allegedly veered off the roadway and struck both individuals. The impact was described as devastating.
Allegations suggest the mother was flung into the air upon being hit and thrown several feet from the point of impact. She reportedly struck a nearby tree before landing inside a yard belonging to a resident. She was later pronounced dead. Her daughter survived the crash but sustained serious injuries. The young girl suffered deep wounds to her hand and was transported to a hospital, where she remains receiving medical treatment.
It is said that moments before the crash, the mother switched places with her daughter along the sidewalk. According to that claim, the daughter had initially been standing closer to the road, but her mother moved closer after becoming concerned about another approaching vehicle.
A video circulating online shows the chaotic aftermath of the collision. The footage shows the mother lying in a yard with what appear to be multiple broken bones from the impact. Just outside the yard, her badly injured daughter is standing among onlookers.
In the video, angry residents gathered at the scene and surrounded a man believed to be the taxi driver. The man was reportedly struck and slapped by several residents multiple times.
Several unconfirmed claims have also surfaced regarding what may have led to the crash. According to individuals who say they were close to the situation, the taxi operator allegedly told people that he had been attacked by spiritual forces while driving. He reportedly claimed that several spirits ran from the nearby funeral home and targeted him.
A person reportedly involved in the incident claimed the driver said he was hearing voices and felt he was no longer in control of the vehicle. The driver allegedly stated that it felt as though a ghost had taken over the steering wheel. The same individual expressed shock at surviving the ordeal and gave thanks to God for escaping the tragedy.
Other claims suggest that when the driver exited the vehicle, he appeared disoriented and confused, behaving strangely before residents confronted him. It is alleged that after the confrontation, he appeared to regain awareness and repeatedly asked what had happened. Police reportedly took the driver into custody.
Meanwhile, additional claims circulating among residents suggest that a woman who witnessed the crash from her vehicle was later involved in another accident hours afterwards. Some have speculated that the same spiritual forces allegedly involved in the first crash may have entered the woman’s vehicle and caused the second incident later that night.
