A woman was found dead at her home in the community of Three Chains, Manchester, in what police are treating as a domestic homicide. Police say a soldier, the partner of the deceased, is now in custody for allegedly murdering the woman on Good Friday.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim, identified as Tania Dunkley, was at home with her partner around in the afternoon when the tragedy struck. It is understood that she was stabbed several times. Shortly after 3:00 p.m., residents were alerted by screams.
Moments later, a man was reportedly seen running from the premises. Neighbours became concerned and quickly contacted the police. When officers arrived, the woman was found dead. Dunkley was a fridge technician and graphic designer.

Police immediately began searching for the suspect, who was said to be in a relationship with the woman, but he was not found. It was not long after the soldier turned himself in to the police, which was confirmed by the senior police sources.
Shortly after the incident, residents gathered near the scene. Among those present was a relative of the deceased, who spoke emotionally about the loss. Leanora Reid, the grandmother of the victim’s stepfather, said everyone found the incident to be deeply disturbing because such violence is rare in the close-knit community.

She said their family was not prepared for such a tragedy and expressed grief over the sudden death, describing the woman as someone connected to a church-going family. She described the incident as the type of senseless that would only end when people turn their lives over to God and find peace. She urged individuals to make better choices and seek guidance in their lives.
The woman explained that the incident had left the entire area in mourning, with people coming from surrounding communities after hearing what had happened.
