Dancehall artiste Armanii launched a series of sharp attacks against hit producer DJ Mac and fellow entertainer Valiant during a heated exchange that unfolded online.
The controversy surfaced during a Twitter Spaces discussion, where Armanii openly threatened DJ Mac and used a derogatory term while addressing him directly. While speaking on the platform, Armanii also took repeated jabs at Valiant, making it clear that he was ready for a lyrical clash. He stated that he was not intimidated by Valiant’s associates and mocked the trajectory of Valiant’s career.
According to Armanii, Valiant’s last major hit was Lumbah, a collaboration with DJ Mac released in early February 2024. He went on to claim that producer Russian later helped revive Valiant’s momentum by working with him on Passenger Princess.
Armanii further alleged that despite reaching mainstream success first, Valiant continued to keep tabs on him. He suggested that lingering resentment stemmed from his decision not to collaborate musically with Valiant. During the rant, Armanii accused Valiant of stealing music, stating that this was the reason he refused to work with him.
DJ Mac was also accused of wrongdoing. Armanii claimed that the producer withheld payments tied to his hit song Fiesta. These remarks came amid a flurry of tweets discussing the alleged lack of attention surrounding Armanii’s newly released album.
One social media user suggested that the album was being overlooked because fans were focused on the ongoing lyrical clash between Tommy Lee and Masicka, a rivalry that has drawn multiple entertainers into what many describe as a full-blown dancehall warzone. Valiant responded to the tweet with the word “sciance,” implying that spiritual practices were responsible for the album being ignored. This was widely interpreted as a reference to Armanii’s earlier claims that Valiant practised obeah.
Armanii fired back, saying Valiant had returned to just talking instead of making music. He urged him to step into the studio and resolve their differences through lyrics, while also claiming that Valiant was afraid to start a clash.
