Prominent dancehall artist Bayka and British R&B star Mahalia’s slow jam “Pick Up The Pace” has been named track of the week. The track was announced as the song of the week by Captial Xtra, a major urban station in the United Kingdom.
The love song features Mahalia’s smooth vocals while Bayka deejays with deep vocals, adding his gangster flow to the track. In the song, Mahalia urges him to “pick up the pace” in their affairs while Bayka deejays risky lyrics.
The song premiered a week ago, and the music video was released on YouTube on November 14. The music video has since accumulated over 31,000 views. The music video features solo footage of Mahalia working out at the gym.
In the UK, the song continues to grow in popularity, and the recognition by the station reflects the track’s growing impact in the international space.
In North America, Bayka has also received much recognition with the hit single “Gracias.” The song was even remixed by Canadian singer and rapper Sadboi.
Additionally, Bayka has also been receiving a positive response to his song “Nice to Meet You.” The music video was released on November 11 on YouTube and has since garnered over 117,000 views.
