Dancehall artiste Silk Boss’ his former manager and partner, Brii has shut down allegations that she prevented him from caring for his alleged outside child during their relationship. In fact, Brii said she encouraged the Surgery hit singer to do right by his Canadian son.
However, the internet users have formed different opinions after he was recently seen spending time with the little boy on the heels of his breakup. With fingers again pointing at her, Brii did an interview with popular TikToker The Urban Reporter to address the long-standing allegations about her alleged influence on his initial nonexistent relationship with the child.
Silk Boss and Brii were previously engaged and share two children together, a daughter and a son. During their relationship, the couple worked together professionally, with Brii managing the artiste’s career while also supporting him personally. However, their relationship drew heavy attention online after a woman living in Canada claimed Silk Boss had fathered her child.
At the time, the artiste reportedly denied the claim. Social media users later began comparing photos of the children, suggesting there was a resemblance between Brii’s children and the Canadian woman’s son. This led to widespread speculation and criticism directed at Brii, with many accusing her of preventing the entertainer from accepting responsibility for the child.
In her interview, Brii rejected those claims, alleging that Silk Boss had purposefully acknowledged the child right after their relationship ended to further push the narrative that she was responsible. She called him a liar and explained that she had known for a long time that her relationship with the artiste would eventually end because of his behaviour. She said she had no reason to speak negatively about the child or discourage him from being involved in the child’s life, particularly because she anticipated leaving the relationship.
According to Brii, the situation with the other woman began when Silk Boss and she had travelled to Canada for business. She alleged that he cheated during that trip, which later resulted in the woman becoming pregnant. Brii said she became aware of the situation after someone showed her online posts suggesting the two were closely involved. Although he initially dismissed the woman as a fan and denied any involvement, she later learned the woman was pregnant while she herself was about six to seven months pregnant with her own child. She noted that the two children were ultimately born about three months apart.
Brii admitted that discovering the situation left her feeling depressed, even as they continued travelling and working together. She also revealed that Silk Boss proposed to her sometime afterwards while they were overseas. Wanting stability for her growing family and still expecting her first child, she said she accepted the proposal despite her doubts.
Another point of contention involved the naming of their children. Brii explained that she originally hoped to have a son first and planned to name the child after Silk Boss, using his legal name, Rohan Reid. Instead, she had a daughter, while the Canadian woman gave birth to a son and reportedly used Silk Boss’ name for the child in a different form. Brii later became pregnant again and said she did not want to give her son the artiste’s name. However, she claimed he refused to sign the birth documents unless the child received his full legal name, which she said she ultimately agreed to.
Despite the controversy, Brii emphasised that she does not blame the child born outside their relationship. She described the child as “a very nice baby” and said she would never disrespect a child who “did not ask to be in this world.” She added that she has never spoken to the other woman but has no issue with the children forming a sibling relationship in the future.
Brii said she remained in the relationship out of love but eventually left after her feelings changed and the relationship became increasingly toxic.
