For years, rap fans have watched Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s relationship swing between icy silence and blazing chaos. After a short pause in the drama, the two artistes are back in the headlines, reigniting their feud with a storm of tweets.
The latest clash started when Nicki Minaj logged on the evening of September 29th with a rant aimed squarely at her long-time rival. Nicki Minaj took swipes at Cardi’s pregnancy, her relationship with Stefon Diggs, and her freshly released album, Am I the Drama?.
At one point, she even implied Cardi had undergone surgery to look like her. Cardi wasted no time clapping back, shifting the focus onto Nicki’s family. Referring to Nicki’s brother’s criminal conviction, Cardi made the exchange personal in a way that stunned many.
Nicki also compared Cardi’s music to the fictional children’s character Barney, while Cardi pushed back at the criticism by pointing out the difference in their career timelines.

“Why you keep bringing up my album?? It’s not the gag that you think it is,” Cardi tweeted. “You been in the game like 16 years.. you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around YOUR time. Rihanna, Taylorswift, Drake…those are the numbers you need to be competing wit and you can’t cuz you doing lower than all of them….”
Cardi indicated that the competition does not feel equal. She emphasised their decade age gap, noting: “I was in high school when you came out, what are you comparing yourself to me for???”

The personal jabs intensified when Nicki mocked Cardi’s pregnancy once more. That triggered an even sharper reply from the Bronx rapper, who accused Nicki of substance abuse, even throwing out the phrase “Cocaine Barbie.”
By then, the spat had spiralled into one of their most insane public spats. At one stage, both rappers launched into what fans dubbed the “Alphabet War,” trading insults disguised as rhyming sequences that felt like a surreal mix of nursery rhyme and diss track. Nicki kicked it off with: “Abcdefgeeeee SUR GER REE TO LOOK LIKE MEEEEEE tell rat & tell J ZEEEEE RICO FRAUD & PERJURY.”
Cardi fired back without hesitation: “ABCDEFG Your man have to snatch P**sy P**sy taste like honey comb Your bro be touching 12 year olds.”

The tweets, many of them quickly deleted, made it clear that this was not just a clash of egos over music but a deeply personal feud with no boundaries. Nicki eventually attempted to rise above the drama, or at least appear to. She deleted her rants and replaced them with an image of an eagle soaring through the sky. Fans immediately tied the symbolism back to Cardi’s album artwork, which featured a crow, framing the post as yet another subtle jab.
Cardi kept her tweets live, doubling down on her earlier claims while sharing a casual picture of herself in the kitchen. “Naaaa cuz I was really baking ribs and making blondie brownies and here come this btch bothering me on a damn Monday,” she wrote, mixing humour with sharp shade.

The intensity of this feud is not new. Since 2017, the two women have had one of the most infamous rivalries in the rap industry. The two have had public spats, including disagreements over verses on Migos’ “Motorsport” and a physical altercation at New York Fashion Week.
What makes this round stand out, however, is just how personal it became. This wasn’t about charts or who had the better verse. It was about families, fertility, and addiction, subjects most would consider off-limits. One fan summed it up bluntly: “If the argument ever leaves music + touches fertility or kids, you already lost.”
And yet, Cardi seemed to have the final word this time. After lashing out with her most pointed accusations, Nicki went silent, leaving only her promotional posts and the eagle picture on her timeline. Meanwhile, Cardi’s taunts remain visible for all to see, solidifying her as the last one standing in this round. Still, if history has shown anything, it’s that silence doesn’t last long between these two.
