For weeks, a black Tesla sat unmoved on a Hollywood Hills street, coated in dust and carrying a dent in its rear. At first, it was treated like any other abandoned car. Tickets were issued on August 27 and September 3. By September 5, the vehicle was towed, and only then would authorities uncover the body of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
According to the LAPD, the car belonged to singer D4vd. When officers searched the vehicle’s front trunk at the tow yard on September 8, they found a dismembered and decomposed body that was later identified as the 14-year-old. LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams explained that the Tesla had been parked for weeks before removal, making it likely that Celeste had been dead for some time before her body was eventually found.
According to TMZ, Celeste has a history of running away from home. She reportedly did so multiple times in 2024. Surveillance footage from March 19, 2024, showed her leaving her Lake Elsinore neighbourhood in a black hoodie and white pants. The clip became one of the last times she was seen alive.

A local store owner recalled her as a quiet teenager who often came by for snacks. However, she was apparently having a hard time at home, as law enforcement described her home life as troubled.
TMZ also shared that friends of D4vd said they believed Celeste was his girlfriend since they were often seen together. They also believed she was older, mistaking her for a college student, since she reportedly often appeared at parties that restricted minors from entering. Sources revealed she was allowed inside these events because she had fake IDs.
Police have searched the home the singer rented, though they have not linked him to her death. When police found the body, D4vd was reportedly out of town preparing for his world tour, which has since been cancelled.
