Footage is circulating of a customer physically attacking a hairstylist over a bad hairdo. The fight, filmed by a bystander inside the salon, was posted on the social media platform X on April 6, showing the violent altercation that erupted in an American hair salon, but the exact location is unclear.
The video begins with a woman, presumed to be the hairdresser, walking into the establishment. She is dressed in black tights and a black top. Almost immediately upon entering, she is confronted by another woman in a green shirt and pink bonnet. The woman appears to be the customer who has been waiting for her arrival. Without exchanging any words, the woman in the bonnet begins punching the hairdresser directly in the face.
A hairdresser retaliates, throwing punches at the woman as well, and the shuffle unfolds. The fight continues, with them both losing their wigs as they tussle. At one point, the client appears to body-slam the hairdresser, and both women lose their wigs while wrestling on the floor. While onlookers gathered near them, they did not intervene, which added to the backlash the video garnered.
According to the limited context shared alongside the footage, the client was allegedly dissatisfied with her hairstyle and blamed the hairdresser for her alleged “messed-up weave”. The caption accompanying the video states, “Client throws hands with her hairstylist because she messed up her weave.”
The video quickly gained traction online, racking up over 50,000 views. While some viewers condemned the violence, others questioned the professionalism of the hairdresser or speculated about the client’s motives.
“Just get a refund and go – there was no reason to fight her and mess up her shop,” one user wrote.
Another commented, “Mad because she can’t pay,” suggesting the altercation may have stemmed from financial issues. Another commenter described the conduct of parties as animal-like behaviour.
