Videos continue to surface with restaurant employees engaging in heated altercations. One of the videos that is garnering attention online shows an incident at Chipotle. In the footage, which was shared on Monday, an intense confrontation between a customer and an employee led to a fight behind the counter.
While the video does not capture the reason for the dispute, it shows the employee seemingly instigating the fight. The video begins with a heated verbal argument between a Chipotle employee and a customer.
According to the footage, as the altercation intensified, the female employee hurled an object over the counter at a woman, prompting the customer to throw something back over the counter.
As the argument continues, the employee retrieves a device from the floor, which seemingly belonged to the customer. Despite the employee’s colleague pleading with her to refrain from further action, the employee forcefully slammed the device onto the floor. This abrupt act triggers an immediate and aggressive response from the customer, who leaps over the counter and charges at the employee.
The pair ended up on the floor with the customer on top. The customer lands several punches on the employee. The fight causes the other customers to laugh and react with shock. In the background, the distressing cries of a child can be heard.
Aman can also be heard shouting at the pair, and he appears in the camera to put an end to the fight when the restaurant workers fail to do so. The man, an associate of the customer, argues with her as he attempts to restore order.
Some viewers found the unfolding chaos amusing, while others sharply criticised the employee and the customer. One viewer described them as “uncivilised”, and several others compared their behaviour to wild animals at the zoo. A debate also sparked as multiple viewers felt that Black people are typically involved in altercations at fast food restaurants. Notably, both parties in the video are African American.
