The Motards du Viaduc are organizing their 17th gathering this weekend of July 1 and 2, 2023. Each year, this Aveyron event raises some €30,000, donated to the fight against cystic fibrosis.
When riding a motorcycle helps advance research on rare diseases… This weekend of July 1 and 2, 2023, the Bikers of the Campagnac Viaduct, north of Sévérac-d’Aveyron, invite you to take part in their 17th gathering. On the program: walks and conferences, the aim being to donate the registration fees for research on cystic fibrosis.
The flagship outing will leave Campagnac this Sunday at 2.30 p.m. “This year, we will not be able to pass on the Viaduct because of the works, in progress since the beginning of April, explains Patrick Delagnes, the president of the association. As a security measure, we have planned a different route with a surprise ride under the Viaduct, in the same spirit and with the same signature. The arrival is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Parc de la Victoire.
€230,000 donated, all editions combined
Two other routes are offered: a walk on the Aubrac, on Saturday from 2 p.m., with a departure from Campagnac; another, entitled “between passes and crosses”, on Sunday, with a departure at 9am.
As usual, the association invites Professor Touqui, from the Institut Pasteur, who has a research laboratory on cystic fibrosis. The researcher will give a conference in the village hall on Sunday from 10 a.m.
Each year, the Motards du Viaduc manage to raise €30,000, or €230,000, all editions combined. Last year, €35,000 was donated to research. “The 2023 vintage really lives up to 2022, says Pierre Bugeaud, registration manager. 71 departments, with Belgium and Switzerland, will be represented this year, it’s huge!”
