Dancehall artiste Gage has lashed out at a woman named Ashley over an illegitimate child (Jamaicans often refer to as ‘jacket’) he has been fathering. He initially believed the child to be his until a paternity test proved otherwise, prompting him to go on a rant while live-streaming on TikTok. During the broadcast, he demanded she return all the money he spent on the child and issued threats.
According to Gage, the woman led him to believe that he was the father of the child. Although he has been caring for the child, there was apparently doubt regarding paternity, leading him to do the test. Gage said that he realised a major red flag when Ashley revealed that the child’s last name is another man’s surname right before the test.
Gage revealed that the man was someone Ashley had been involved with. The discovery nearly led him to dismiss the paternity test, as it seemed to confirm that the child is not his. However, Ashley claimed she had simply guessed the surname to give her child, indicating it held no real significance to anyone.
Gage said he continued with the paternity test, only for it to be confirmed that the child is not his. Furious, he went on to say that if he should now harm her for the blatant disrespect, everyone would condemn him, and he would go to jail.
“Mi wah back mi food (money) dem, yah f**king ediat gyal,” he said. “Every f**king dollar weh mi memba, mi want it back.”
He issued threats, saying, “Tell the police dem fi lock mi up now. Mi wah back mi money…Mi pomise yuh problem, p***yhole. Yah ediat. Mi promise yuh worries.”
During the livestream, Gage appeared distraught as he reflected on a past relationship in which he got another woman pregnant. At the time, he felt he could not provide for two children, so he encouraged her to have an abortion. Now, he is left without any children after recently learning that he is not the biological father of the first child.
