Jamaican dancehall entertainer Lisa Hyper was arrested on Tuesday at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. According to a news report, the police took her into custody over an alleged assault that involved an employee at the airport.
During Lisa’s exchange with the police and the airport employees, she reportedly used abusive language, per the report. She is allegedly facing a disorderly conduct charge.
Much of the incident was recorded, as the artist was streaming live on TikTok. In the video, she confidently expresses that even though she did not have a ticket, someone would purchase one for her, and she would not leave. According to Lisa, she intended to catch a flight to New York to sign a contract, and she had a court appearance in America.
Lisa Hyper can be heard making fun of some of the airport customers. She also ranted about Vybz Kartel, whom she claimed disliked her, and added that she wanted to be with Dexta Daps.
“Everybody who loves Kartel, go suck your mumma,” she said. “Gaza nuh rape but Gaza a paedophile.” She also threatened to reveal things that would put Vybz Kartel behind bars again.
Shortly after, the police address her over her ticket situation. The officer informs her that not having a ticket is an arrestable offence while indicating that she had to leave the airport. The police, seemingly unaware that it was streaming live, warned that he would press charges if she posted him online, and Lisa Hyper responded with disrespectful remarks.
Things escalate when she apparently sees workers filming her and becomes aggressive. She threatens to hit a female airport worker and goes into the woman’s face. The police subsequently say he will charge her, but Lisa Hyper apparently refuses to go with the officer.
Later in the video, she is arrested and threatens to spit on the officer while disrespecting multiple police.
