Jamaican dancehall artiste Squash has reportedly been released on bail. The deejay was arrested on gun-related charges on Tuesday in Miami, Florida. Squash, legally named Andrae Maurice Whittaker, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office on charges of having a machine gun, a short-barrel shotgun, and a rifle, along with having the weapon concealed.
A bond of $3000 US was set, and an immigration hold was placed on the entertainer. On Thursday, a police report revealed that he was no longer in custody at the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office.
The report was shared online by popular Jamaican vlogger King Mixup and the well-known Instagram page Pinkwall. The report shared by the two sources featured a picture of the police booking that details the 33-year-old deejay was released.
Yesterday, Squash’s mother lashed out at the critics who rejoiced over her son’s run-in with the law. One person in particular who received an earful from the angry mother is Squash’s rival, Blam Dem. TikToker Blam Dem reacted to the news by laughing at Squash on a live stream and taking shots at the deejay and his mother.
Squash’s mother, Shelly, has not yet reacted to the news of her son’s release. With news of his release circulating social media, some Instagram users are eager to see the reaction that the TikToker will have. The TikToker has not yet responded to the news of the Squash’s release.
