Amid his legal challenges, Dancehall artiste Squash intends to grace his fans with an EP titled Hate Being Famous. The upcoming project was announced by producer and collaborator ‘DinDin,’ who revealed the cover art for the EP in an Instagram post.
In the caption of the social media post, he noted that the EP is “coming soon.” The release date and the tracklist are yet to be disclosed. The post garnered joyful responses from the fans of the 6ix boss. The news of his pending EP comes on the heels of his newly released song Know Bout Dat.
The single was released on April 8 with a music video and has since been climbing up the top trending chart on YouTube. The song is currently at No. 3 with over 539,000 views. It focuses on him describing the battles he has fought alone in life and mentions a rise to stardom after having humble beginnings.The Jamaican artiste is currently facing legal battles after being arrested on gun-related charges in Florida. Squash, born Andrae Maurice Whittaker, remains in the custody of the United States immigration authorities. The deejay pleaded not guilty to the charges on April 2. According to reports, he requested a jury trial to decide the gun charges levelled against him.
Squash has made several court appearances since his arrest, and the most recent local news update of his ongoing legal issues reported that he was scheduled to return to court on April 7.
As reported before, the 33-year-old deejay was apprehended for the illegal possession of a firearm that is modified and carrying a concealed gun without a permit. He was formally charged after being pulled over during a traffic stop on February 24, which was when the police discovered multiple guns and ammunition in his vehicle.
The entertainer was riding in the passenger seat, while his associate, Zidanne George Prescott, was driving. His associate was arrested on different charges.
