Police discovered a decomposed body inside a Tesla on Monday afternoon, reportedly belonging to rising music star D4vd. The gruesome find was made at a tow yard in Hollywood inside a 2023 Tesla. The vehicle was recently impounded after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills for about five days before the discovery was made on Monday, when workers alerted the police after realising that a stench was coming from the vehicle.
Responding officers investigated the vehicle and uncovered human remains wrapped in plastic. The plastic was stuffed inside the vehicle’s front trunk, commonly referred to as a “frunk” in electric cars. Authorities confirmed that the vehicle is registered to 20-year-old David Anthony Burke, better known by his stage name D4vd from Queens, New York, who is known for his hit song “Romantic Homicide.”
At the time of the discovery, D4vd was actively posting on social media and preparing for his scheduled performance in Minneapolis on Tuesday, showing no signs of awareness about what was inside his car.
It bore Texas licence plates, and investigators are now working to determine how the body ended up inside. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will be responsible for determining the cause of death.
According to law enforcement sources, D4vd, who is currently in the middle of a world tour, was unaware that his car had been abandoned or that a body had been found inside it until he was contacted by police. He has since been cooperating fully with investigators. At this point, authorities have not said whether the vehicle was stolen, loaned, or otherwise out of the singer’s possession.
According to reports, while police were uncovering the body, D4vd was continuing his tour schedule and promoting his latest album, “WITHERED”, online. The artist, who gained international fame in 2022 after his music went viral on TikTok, has billions of streams across major platforms and remains a fast-rising figure in the music industry.
