Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel is no stranger to controversy. In fact, you could say that he enjoys stirring the pot and getting everyone talking about things they love to gossip about. His latest song preview is no exception; he teased a new love song for his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, that turned heads when he mentioned his ex.
Although he did not call out any ex-girlfriend by name, many people assumed he was throwing shade at Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson. The single, titled They’re Outta Love, We Aren’t, was teased in two Instagram posts he shared on Friday. The first post featured Sidem in bed vibing to the track playing in the background while Vybz Kartel belted out the lyrics for her as he filmed her.
The lyrics, which were also pinned on the video, emphasised, “My Ex Could Never… Step inna yuh shoes Louis Leather. It’s giving forever! & I Love the way I move when you move.”

The song garnered many amusing and surprising reactions, with a swarm of comments from fans showing their support. Amid the positive responses were questions and jokes about the unidentified ex. Some viewers also criticised him, with one user claiming he was pitting Shorty and Sidem against each other. Another user indicated that he is thinking about the ex, which led him to throw shade.
Multiple fans defended Vybz Kartel, one of whom expressed, “Den a one ex kartel have unuh low the man bbc page and stop call up people name ova yah.” Another said, “A one ex e man av? That’s y d man will always trend because him know fi tun unu inna fool.”

In the second post, which also shows Sidem and a quick look at their bedroom, Vybz Kartel emphasised that the song is meant for all wives only and revealed that the track will be released soon. The first post quickly circulated, ruffling feathers across Instagram as some users believed that it was an unnecessary jab at his former girlfriend Shorty.
