A devastating multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Brazil on Thursday night after the rider was run over by a bus. The victim was pronounced dead after a high-speed collision that also involved a car in São Paulo.
The incident, which occurred around 8:40 p.m., was captured on a nearby surveillance camera, and the disturbing footage has been released online. The video shows a car attempting to cross over to the other side of the road. A bus can be seen approaching from a few feet behind the car in the same lane.
The scene becomes chaotic when a motorcycle approaches at high speed in the opposite direction. In a split second, the motorcycle slams into the rear of the crossing car. As it continues to charge forward, the bus collides with the motorcyclist, and the bus apparently runs over both the rider and the motorcycle.
Following the crash, the driver of the car, which sustained damage to the rear end, rushed to check on the rider. Residents who apparently heard the crash also ran to the scene and gathered near the rider.
The video was compiled with additional footage that reveals the horrifying aftermath. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, was left face down on the pavement. The rider is wearing a black hooded jacket with dark-coloured pants as he remains motionless in the middle of the street with visible blood on his face.
His motorcycle was seen just a few feet away, mangled from the crash. In the footage, onlookers could be seen observing and filming the scene while apparently alerting officials.
No additional injuries were reported at the time of the incident, and it appears emergency services have yet to confirm further details, according to the limited information available surrounding the incident.
The collision was shared online, including by the site USA Crime, where graphic footage captured the attention of viewers.
