After threatening to file a lawsuit against dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel some days ago, popular selector Foota Hype continues to speak out against Vybz Kartel for using “STR8.” In a new live stream, Foota Hype stated that Vybz Kartel “has to pay homage” to him for using the slang.
He mentioned that the deejay had ample options when deciding on the name of his liquor. The selector even listed some options, indicating that the deejay could have used someone else’s slang or created his own instead of using “STR8 VYBZ.”
According to Foota Hype, he is now proven to be the trendsetter and “the man” who is on top since the dancehall icon is using his style. What sparked this new rant appears to be Vybz Kartel’s new event called “STR8 VYBZ WEDNESDAYS with Pinkii Pinkx.
“If the hottest man uses my style, then nuh me a di hottest thing. Foota Hype is the man, whether Gaza Boss wah says it or not. Actions speak louder than words,” Foota Hype said. Foota Hyped called himself a “pioneer” in the entertainment industry and urged Vybz Kartel to contact him once more.
Foota Hype recently threatened to sue Vybz Kartel for using the slang, which he claimed he invented and has legal rights to. He had indicated that Vybz Kartel should contact him or face the consequences during a live stream.
However, Vybz Kartel has not publicly acknowledged the warnings of Foota Hype and appears to be ignoring him. Some internet users who have reacted to the video have suggested that Foota Hype’s lawsuit would not hold ground in court because he has legal rights to his “STR8 Nation” brand and not “STR8,” so his threats are empty.
Foota Hype continues to receive criticism from internet users who believe is chasing clout by targeting Vybz Kartel.
