Singer and actress Halle Bailey took to the internet in frustration after her son, Halo, appeared on Kai Cenat’s popular Twitch livestream. The 9-month-old was brought on the livestream by his father, rapper DDG, who is also Halle’s ex-partner. The livestream racked up more than 13 million views. In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Halle shared her concerns and disapproval of her son being in front of millions without her permission.
“Hi everyone, just so you know I am out of town, and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn’t told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people,” she wrote. She also sought to remind everyone that she was not only his mother but also his protector. “I am his mother and protector, and it’s upsetting not to have been informed, especially while I am out of town.”
Social media users reacted with mixed opinions regarding the situation, with some agreeing that Halle should have been informed. In contrast, others felt she overreacted since the baby was also spending time with his father on the livestream. DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Grandberry Jr., has not publicly addressed the statement Halle released.
However, he did extend his gratitude online to Kai Cenat for giving his son several gifts during the livestream. Notably, DDG’s post came not long after Halle made her statement online and it appears her account was deactivated shortly after making the post.
Halle and DDG recently parted ways, less than a year after welcoming Halo. The breakup was shared in early October on DDG’s Instagram Story, where he referred to it as a difficult decision that took “much reflection and heartfelt support conversations.”
Despite the breakup, DDG emphasised that their “love for each other remains deep and true” and assured fans that they will remain close friends while they co-parent. However, following the post Halle made on November 6, some people are convinced there might be some issues behind the scenes.
In January 2022, Halle and DDG were revealed to be in a relationship, which initially excited fans. In June 2022, they made their first red carpet-appearance as a couple at the BET Awards. However, after the arrival of their son in December 2023, things changed for the couple.
