Popular Jamaican TikToker Alex Yamboss is up and about and seemingly doing well after getting shot. Footage was shared online, showing his recovery, and igniting joy among social media users. The social media personality was reportedly shot in the head in early January.
According to the reports, he was in the Browns Hall community in St. Catherine when the incident occurred. The news of him being hospitalised in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head shook the internet as the incident followed closely behind the fatal shooting of another social media sensation known as Niah Gang.
A video compilation shows scenes of when he was hospitalised with a swollen face while his head was bandaged. Another hospital scene shows Alex stating he would overcome the horrific incident and become a “walking testimony.” A different scene shows him with the swelling reduced after he was discharged from the hospital. The video concludes with multiple clips of him showing his restored strength and health.
Additionally, Alex went on a livestream with his mother for the first time since the incident. Viewers reacted with joy, and he reassured fans that he would return to TikTok soon. During the live stream, he shared a heart-wrenching story of his recovery.
According to his mother, Alex was shot in the head and his spine. When she visited him in the hospital, his head was swollen, and he had to wear an adult diaper. However, he was walking around after eleven days, stunning even the doctors who predicted that the effects of his injuries would cause conditions like seizures. She urged viewers to trust in God because “faith moves mountains.”
“Who could it be but Jesus? The doctor said she had never seen a head wound like that go down so fast,” she said. “God is good.”
Additionally, she shared that she does not harbour any bad feelings towards the shooter and urged the shooter to repent.
It is alleged that Alex was mistakenly targeted. The target was reportedly the owner of a vehicle that Alex was using the day of the incident, based on what was said in the live stream. His mother shared that Alex was never attacked in his own car until he drove the individual’s car.
