Audio has been released of Jay-Z’s rape accuser allegedly admitting she fabricated the rape story. The woman, identified as Jane Doe, initially claimed that Jay-Z and Diddy raped her at a VMA afterparty in 2000. She claims that her attorney, Tony Buzbee, pressured her to sue Jay-Z, according to the audio.
In the audio, the woman is speaking with two private investigators affiliated with Jay-Z. During their conversation, the investigators questioned her about Jay-Z’s involvement in the alleged sexual assault, and she confirmed that while he was at the event, he was not involved.
The investigator asks, “He was just there, but he didn’t have anything to do with any sexual acts towards you?” “Yeah,” Jane Doe replies and adds that Buzbee encouraged her to sue by saying, “He (Buzbee) was the one that kind of pushed me towards going forward with him, with Jay-Z.”
After the allegations were made, Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, denied them, and his lawyer, Alex Spiro, denied that the Roc Nation founder had ever met the woman. However, Buzbee denies pressuring his client into pursuing legal action, saying, “As far as the suggestion that I pushed Jane Doe to bring a case against Jay Z—that is a blatant lie that is directly contrary to all the documentary evidence.”
The lawsuit said that both Jay-Z and Diddy, legally named Sean Combs, sexually assaulted Jane Doe at the event. However, the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, which means it cannot be refiled. Jane Doe insists that the allegations are true and said she withdrew the lawsuit because she feared the “intimidation and retaliation from Jay-Z” and his fans.
Additionally, she denied telling the private investigators that Jay-Z was not involved or that she was pressured by Buzbee. Buzbee released a recording of her confirming this during a conversation with him. According to the report, she also said she felt “intimidated and terrified” when the investigators confronted her at her door, as they knew all her personal details. Jay-Z’s attorney claims Jane Doe voluntarily met the investigators. Jay-Z is currently suing Jane Doe and Buzbee for defamation.
