Dancehall entertainer KipRich and his partner, content creator Kizzy Don, are experiencing unexpected hardships after the premature birth of their baby daughter while they were overseas. The couple’s child, named Miracle, was born early last Friday in Colombia, South America. KipRch shared that the newborn arrived at six months and one week into the pregnancy, weighing just one and a half pounds at birth. Since birth, she has been receiving medical care and now remains in an incubator.
When KipRich, legally named Marlon Plunkett, shared the emotional news, he confirmed that while the baby remains stable, the situation has been stressful for him and his 28-year-old girlfriend. He said the birth took place shortly after 2 a.m. on January 16 and noted that Kizzy is physically well but emotionally shaken by her newborn’s condition.
“It’s her first child, so sometimes she breaks down crying,” he shared, adding that the couple is leaning heavily on prayer during this time. They requested prayers from the public and have been receiving much support.
The pregnancy had been progressing with an expected delivery date set for April.
The couple ended up having the baby just days after they arrived in Colombia for a scheduled performance from KipRich in San Andres on January 17. The entertainer had cheerfully told his fans that he was not leaving Kizzy behind; they flew out together. However, their trip turned into a medical emergency following Kizzy’s going into early labour.
KipRich explained that their immediate focus is on ensuring the best possible care for their newborn. He said they are unsure when they will be able to return home, as arrangements may need to be made to transfer the baby to another island with more advanced medical facilities.
The couple’s relationship has been highly visible, especially on social media. Early on, some questioned whether their romance was genuine, labelling it a publicity move. Over time, however, KipRich and Kizzy continued to share personal moments online, gradually convincing supporters that their bond was real.
Kizzy, born Danielle Banton, and KipRich announced their pregnancy on Christmas Day with a maternity photoshoot and a short video. Since then, the pair have kept fans in the loop with their experiences as a pregnant couple. Kizzy opened up about motherhood, which she said was difficult in the first trimester, but praised her partner for his support. The couple also hinted at future marriage plans.
